High gloss cabinetry has become very popular over the last few years. If you are looking for a clean European look then a high gloss finish might be just right for you. Don't be afraid to mix in an exotic textured wood grain to create an emphatic contrast with the gloss. White gloss cabinets remain popular often paired with Calcutta marble countertops and gray elements to create a clean contemporary design.
So you want a high gloss kitchen, but what kind of options are available? There are a number of ways to achieve the high gloss look. Here are a a couple of our favorites.
Parapan
Parapan doors are made of a solid acrylic that is engineered to carry a consistent color throughout. Parapan is often the material of choice for luxury kitchens. Parapan is UV fade resistant and therefore can even be used in outdoor kitchens.
Acrylic Veneer
Acrylic veneers are essentially a thin layer of acrylic (the same material used in Parapan doors) which is applied over a wood door. The big advantage of veneers is that they are less expensive than Parapan while providing the same look. Acrylic veneers are our best selling high gloss doors.
High Pressure Laminate/ Thermofoil
Laminates and Thermofoils can be an inexpensive way to achieve the gloss look. Both styles apply a high gloss material over a wood door. They are adhered with either an adhesive are a heating process.
